Biometric data policy

Purpose. We use face data only to confirm a real person is behind a profile before it appears in discovery. We don't use it to identify you, for advertising, or for any other purpose. We never sell, lease, trade or otherwise profit from it.

What we collect and keep. Your camera photo is sent to Microsoft Azure Face, our service provider, to run the check. Atachy does not store the photo or any face geometry. We keep only the result (verified or not), the date, and the number of attempts. That result is not face data.

Retention and destruction. Face data is used only for the duration of the check and is not retained by Atachy afterward. Your check result is erased along with your account. Our record that you consented (which policy version and when, with no face data) is kept with your identity removed for 5 years, so we can show we asked first.

Consent. We ask for your written consent before your first check, and again if this policy changes.

Withdrawal. In Settings, withdraw your selfie-check consent at any time. Your verified status is removed immediately and your profile leaves discovery.

Disclosure. We disclose face data only to Microsoft, to perform the check, or when required by law.
